Update- Vremea ploioasa a facut din nou ravagii. Casele oamenilor au fost puternic afectate de precipitatiile abundente, apa facand pagube materiale insemnate, deasemenea unele stazi au fost distruse de apa invloburata. Toate acestea s-au intamplat in seara de 27-28 iulie.
De data aceasta a fost afectat si centrul orasului.
'Angajaţii Staţiei de Pompieri Scorniceşti s-au deplasat luni în oraşul Potcoava pentru asanarea apei din mai multe gospodării. La locul intervenţiei s-a constatat că este nevoie şi de ajutorul colegilor lor de la Detaşamentul de Pompieri Slatina, care au venit în sprijin şi au acţionat cu motopompe pentru limitarea proporţiilor pagubelor create de ploile abundente. După ce apele s-au retras, un bilanţ provizoriu a arătat că aici au fost afectate nu mai puţin de 15 locuinţe, 300 de gospodării şi zece beciuri.'

Aprilie 2014: După mai bine de doua săptămani cu vreme capricioasă, inevitabilul s-a produs:
- în orașul Potcoava, apele pârâului Plapcea au năvalit peste 45 de curți și grădini, 15 anexe gospodărești, 10 hectare de teren arabil și cinci hectare de pășuni.(datele trimise de Comitetele Locale pentru Situații de Urgență și centralizate de ISU Olt)
